James Stark is the Director of Loss Prevention, Safety, eCommerce Fraud and Supply Chain Security at Pier 1 Imports. Stark possess a well-rounded background within the loss prevention profession with 25 years of retail loss prevention experience, ranging from traditional brick and mortar, omni-channel and supply chain. His current areas of responsibility are corporate security, investigations, loss prevention operations, supply chain security, safety, online payment fraud detection, and administration of loss prevention based technology.

Laura Metrick – Denny’s 

Laura Metrick is the North America Sr. Manager of Asset Protection for Denny’s Corporation. Laura is an accomplished Asset Protection, Security, Safety and Loss Prevention Professional with success in managing multi-site locations within the US, Canada and the Caribbean. In her current role with Denny’s, Laura supports 32 states for Security and Asset Protection, as well as writing her department’s monthly newsletter and serving as the subject matter expert for the national rollout of Smart Safe banking . Laura has been with Denny’s for over 7 years. Prior to Denny’s, she was with Burger King Corp. and FedEx serving in the same capacity.

Jerry Brefol – Luxottica  

Jerry Brefol is the Manager of Physical Security and Department Contracts for Asset Protection at Luxottica N.A. He is responsible for developing, identifying and implementing Physical Security layers into Luxottica N.A. locations which include: LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Target Optical, Sears Optical, Sunglass Hut, Oakley, Ray-Ban, ILORI, Optical Shops of Aspen and Oliver Peoples in over 4500 retail outlets and 10 manufacturing / distribution / office locations throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Jerry has been with Luxottica since 2004. Prior to Luxottica Jerry worked with the University of Cincinnati’s IT department as well as Home Depot and Kohl’s department stores, bringing over 20 years of experience in Loss Prevention, Information Technology and Retail.

Keller Piatt - Target

Keller Piatt is a Senior Engineer at Target Corp. He has 18 years of experience in the Asset Protection\Legal platform performing multiple engineering roles, from hardware support to application design and development. He is a key resource for diagnostics, evaluation and implementation of the APS VMS systems at Target and is responsible for the stability of Surveillance technology used at 1,800+ retail stores, Target HQ and their global sourcing partners.

Anthony Harms

Tony Harms - Skechers

Tony Harms is the Sr. Manager of Retail Loss Prevention for Skechers USA. Tony is responsible for overseeing Retail Loss Prevention in over 700 company owned stores. 

In addition, Tony supports Corporate Security as well for the Skechers buildings throughout Manhattan Beach, CA and remote offices. Tony has been with Skechers since 2010. Prior to Skechers, Tony was with Abercrombie & Fitch and Target Corporation.

CEUs 8 credits offered from LPF Conference attendees will be eligible to earn up to 8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards their Loss Prevention Foundation LPC Recertification.  

4 credits offered from CFI Each Certified Forensic Interviewer needs 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every three years to re-certify


Booking your flight  

You are responsible for booking and covering the cost of your flights to Minneapolis. The expense for flights is not included in the conference package. 

Please book your flight to arrive before the 6pm reception (or 5pm first-timer reception for those new to the forum) on Monday, August 13, and to depart after the forum ends at 5:15pm on Wednesday, August 15.  

The closet airports is Minneapolis/ St. Paul International airport. Please plan for minimum 30 minutes of transfer between airport and hotel.

Your conference reservations will not be final until you have supplied your full travel details. You will be required to update your registration with full travel details no later than July 13th, 2018

Airport Transfers 

As part of the conference package, Axis offers complimentary airport transfers both to and from the conference.

Please send your complete flight itinerary by July 13th, 2018. To ensure that the proper arrangements are made for your hotel and airport transportation, it is essential that we receive your information in a timely manner.  

If you will be driving to the hotel, please supply the dates of your arrival and departure by July 13th, 2018. All travel information should be submitted through the registration portal.

Airport transfers are only available on the forum's scheduled arrival and departure days (Monday arrival, Wednesday night or Thursday departure)
